“Love the moment. Flowers grow out of dark moments. Therefore, each moment is vital.

It affects the whole. Life is a succession of such moments and to live each, is to succeed.”

Evidence-Based Psychotherapy

Therapy is an investment. You invest your time, money, and emotions in this work. What evidence do you have to suggest that it will work? I was trained in a scientist-practitioner model, which means that my clinical work is informed by scientific research identifying those methods that have been shown to be most effective in objective studies. I based much of my work on an approach to psychotherapy called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, a type of cognitive-behavioral therapy which is firmly grounded in scientific theory and backed by empirical research. I also integrate a great deal of interpersonal and relational theory into my work. My belief is that psychotherapy is an art and a science. At the heart of my practice is a compassion for those with whom I work, a care and presence that cannot be learned from books. However, my work is also firmly grounded in science that guides my interventions and treatment plans.

As a clinical psychologist, I am trained to work with a wide variety of psychological problems. Click on the links below to find more information on some particular areas in which I specialize:
